GANNON
SBDC HONORED AREA BUSINESSES
The
Gannon University Small Business Development Center
(SBDC) on Friday, June 6 hosted its 18th
annual Small Business Awards luncheon and program.
The
event was held at the Ambassador Banquet and
Conference Center began with a networking session
followed by a lunch speaker and finally the Awards.
The
businesses honored were (and their categories):
- President’s Award:
Christopher Snyder, CEO, Spectrum eCommerce
(formerly linkvalu.com.)
- New Start-Up Business of
the Year: Hertel and Brown Physical and Aquatic
Therapy, PC.

Community/Residential Service Business of the
Year:
Bella Salon & Day Spa.
- Manufacturing Business of
the Year: CSI Industries, Inc.
- Agribusiness of the Year:
Al’s Melons Farm Market & Greenhouse.
- Technology Business of the
Year: Velocity Network.
- Professional Business
Services of the Year: Inscale Architects.
- Retail Business of the
Year: Isaac Baker Menswear.
- Environmental Business of
the Year: Engineered Plastics, Inc.
The
guest speaker for the event was Scott Klososky,
thought leader, author, and former CEO of three
companies. His keynote address was titled “Trends
and Technology – Insights to
Help your Organization Break Through.”
The
Gannon SBDC has helped northwestern Pennsylvania’s
most successful businesses set the pace for over a
quarter of a century. The Gannon SBDC professionals
work confidentially with entrepreneurs in Erie,
Crawford, Mercer and Warren counties to help
businesses maintain a competitive edge. The
consultants can help new or existing business owners
set goals, develop new products and services, gather
sophisticated information about a specific industry
or find new global markets. The Gannon SBDC
consultants have many
areas of expertise that include financial,
marketing, international and environmental at no
charge for these services.
The
Gannon SBDC is a part of a statewide network of 18
centers and more than 80 community outreach offices
and a national network of more than 1,000 centers.
The Gannon SBDC also can enlist Gannon University
faculty and graduate students for applied research
and support.
Funding support and resources are provided by the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through the Department
of Community and Economic Development; through a
cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business
Administration, and through support from Gannon
University. All services are extended to the public
